Premium Tundish Flux for Non-Ferrous Metal Casting
Product Description
Molten aluminum tends to oxidize and absorb gases due to the non-protective nature of its oxide film. To address this, a specialized flux powder with a slightly lower melting point and lighter specific gravity than aluminum is utilized. This powder exhibits excellent fluidity and rapidly forms a dense, uniform protective film over the surface of the aluminum melt. Such characteristics are fundamental for an effective covering agent.
Usage Method
When using the covering agent, impure materials and non-metallic inclusions are removed, transforming the slag into either a paste or liquid state, depending on the amount added. To ensure full coverage of the liquid surface, multiple applications of the covering agent are recommended. The optimal timing for application is as the metal begins to melt. Once melting is complete, the agent should consistently coat the melt for protection during the heat preservation and static phase.
Main Advantages
- Incorporates cryolite for adsorption and slag formation.
- Forms a liquid covering layer aiding in cleaning when additional materials are introduced.
- Facilitates the removal and melting of some aluminum oxide from the slag.
- Isolates aluminum liquid from furnace gases, minimizing burn loss and oxidation absorption.
Packaging and Storage
The product is packaged in corrugated boxes, each containing 20-25 kg. For optimal preservation, store in a dry place and prevent moisture exposure.
